¡Hola! Subscriber First Name,May is here — with thread in hand, sun and rain, and a strong urge to roll up our sleeves. After the excitement generated by the last newsletter (thank you to everyone who responded to the survey!), we now have dates and a structure for the textile repair workshops we’ll be offering in June. These will be spaces to learn, share, and take action against waste — needle in hand, heart grounded. We’ll offer both beginner and intermediate workshops, in-person and even a virtual version for those who are far away or prefer to join from home. We’re going to learn how to mend, darn, reinforce zippers, redo hems, and give a second (or third!) life to those garments we love. Below you’ll find all the dates, payment methods, and how to register. Yes, they are in. Puerto Rico, and mainly in Spanish, but if you want to come, I am happy to teach you in English if need be, this applies to the virtual session too. And as always, our mentorship sessions and online school are still open — the learning never stops. See you in the workshop! 💌Auralis

🧵 June 2025 – Textile Repair and Reimagination Workshops
🪡♻️ This June in Puerto Rico… we mend, reimagine, and resist. We’re launching in-person and virtual workshops on textile repair and transformation — because taking care of what we already have is a powerful form of sustainability. On the island, there are 29 landfills — 17 of them out of compliance with the EPA — and textiles are the second most common type of waste, after organic matter. 🌱 These workshops offer a tangible and accessible response: you’ll learn how to repair, transform, and extend the life of your clothes instead of throwing them away or “donating” them (which often just shifts the problem to another country). 🧷 Repairing is an act of love, resistance, and a step toward the future. Sign up for the workshop that works best for you and join this growing network of knowledge and action.
